GOVERNMENT LIAISON (STATE)

BYLAWS AND SOCIETY REGULATIONS:
This committee shall be composed of eight members.  The Chair will be appointed by the President and serve a term of three years.  Each chapter will appoint one member to serve a term of one year.

Areas of activity include state and local regulations.

DUTIES:

1. Monitor pending legislation in Harrisburg that pertains to laboratories or laboratory personnel.
2. Maintain a Keyman Network and activate that network when important issues are to be voted on.
3. Educate members about state government and keep them informed of current issues through a regular column in “The Pennsylvania Newsletter”.
4. Maintain an updated roster of state legislators with their addresses.
5. Coordinate state legislative days.
6. Work with the corresponding committees of ASCLS and district societies.
7. Send a report of committee activities to the President at least one month prior to the Board of Directors liaison individual.
